Walls Around Our Hearts & Homes
They sold us a lifestyle of loneliness
And we bought it
Isolation at its finest
Stress at it’s heaviest
They told us it takes a village to raise a child
And we believe it.
But there’s walls in between us,
Along with race, status, and belief differences.
They said it’s a full time job
But it’s not
You can’t leave the office of parenthood
You can’t mute the call of your child
It’s not 5 days a week
It’s every hour of the day
And it’s not a job
It’s an honour
But the badge of honour comes with a prick of betrayal
A system and society that puts profit on a pedestal
Leaves future generations in the financial forecast
Children are nothing but a chime of coins for tomorrow
When they should be the building blocks of today
But every building on every block has been designed for the hustle
The rat race to nothing you actually wanted
Running towards the carrot of deception
Time to introduce an interception
A reminder of what’s real
We need to stop paying taxes to tyrants
Authoritarians that don’t give a shit about our authority
Invest in a community that cares about your family
We have the power to create our own reality
To stop spinning on the hamster wheel of governmental property
Getting played like puppets with no sovereignty
They don’t own us
And the onus is on us that they don’t own our children too
Building a community is full of job opportunity
Funding our freedom
And investing in shared property
Building on land where children can play
And veg can grow free from poisonous sprays
We could siesta and share meals
With enough hands to cook
And eyes to watch over our kin in kind
Homemade bread and homeschooled minds
Chlorine-free water
And indoctrination-free education
We could instil equality
And be truly happy
If we stopped paying the perpetrators of hierarchies and poverty
Please, someone out there tell me you’re with me?
